Orange Syrup

This is the perfect syrup to top pumpkin waffles or pancakes. My kids ask for it whenever pumpkin waffles are in the works! It’s also very simple. We usually double the recipe, but here is the original which comes from the Better Homes and Gardens’ “Dieter’s Cookbook.” This can turn out rather thick so if you want, thin it out with a little more orange juice. It also looks so beautiful, you can bottle it up and give it away as a Christmas gift this year. Enjoy!
Orange Syrup
- 1 cup orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
In a small saucepan stir together the orange juice, honey, cornstarch and cinnamon. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir for 2 minutes more. Serve warm. Makes about 1 cup.
